Dog Bedding With Functional Features

By Rodger G Allenby

When a dog wants to lie down and take a nap, it isn’t really concerned whether it’s lying on dog bedding or an actual dog bed. Half the time, the two are virtually the same thing anyway. A couple of blankets, which humans would consider bedding, can be a perfectly fine bed for a dog.

A flat cushioned pad with a fleece lining might stand with a foot on both sides of the fence. And in between you’ve got the sort of pet bed that has elements of both a traditional bed and the sort of things that would be thought of as bedding.

Your Dog Sleeping In Blankets

Some bedding for dogs is as simple as a bunch of blankets. If that’s the sort of bed your dog likes, then you can get these at places like the Salvation Army or other second hand stores. You don’t necessarily have to get elaborate with them, especially if you use them mainly to line the dog’s crate or to cover furniture.

Yet many websites or stores where there are dog beds for sale will also have blankets, throws, and variations on them, designed especially for your dog. Some specially created blankets may have inserts for heating pads, or might be designed to wrap and towel off the dog after a bath.

Looking For Custom Dog Beds Online

But you can also buy custom dog beds that sit halfway between the definition of beds and dog bedding. These can come in fairly flat mat form, but then you have a product like the Faux Fur Trundle Bed, found at places like the Glamour Dog (www.glamourdog.com) website.

This is a pet bed that is close to sphere-shaped, with a large hole in the top that allows your dog to burrow inside to snuggle and sleep if it wants, making itself a little nest. Or the bed can be flattened out so the dog can sleep on top of a plush double layer.

Functional Bedding For Better Comfort

Some special designs of dog bedding will be functional and others will just be ornamental. You probably won’t find a practical use for the feather boa that decorates the edges of a dog bed tent, yet the cover on the bed inside it, might be able to wick moisture away so a wet dog won’t stay that way.

Dog bed furniture will come with different designs and different types of bedding. As long as your dog is comfortable and you’re happy with a review your options, including the look and function of the bed, then the different bedding configurations aren’t ultimately that important.

Little Known Facts About Dog Beds....

Dogs and cats run neck in neck for the most favorite pet by owners. Cats are fine to own but nothing quite compares to the companionship that a dog has to offer. A dog can be just like a child at times.

You can get aggravated at him, mad at him and still love him with all of your hearts. Dogs, like any pets, come with responsibilities. You have to provide your dog with the necessities such as food, water and a dog bed. Dog beds can be found in many places.
