Fish Feeders To Maintain Your Fish While You Are Away
By Suzzie T Franklin
Fish feeders can feed your fish while you are at work, at a social
or family event, or on a weekend trip. There is a wide range of
fish feeders, from the smaller feeders for home aquariums, to
the larger fish feeders for stock and fish ponds.
If you arrange for the installation of a fish pond in your backyard,
you should also look at purchasing a fish feeder, to feed your
fish. Depending on the model of fish feeder, you can program the
feeder to release food at a specific time.
A fish feeder can be feeding your fish, while you are at home,
or if you are away for a few days. If you do not want to feel
any sense of guilt for forgetting to feed your fish, a fish feeder
can keep you with a peace of mind, knowing that your fish will
be fed.
When you purchase a fish feeder, ensure you read the maintenance
instructions and maintain the unit, to keep it in perfect running
order.
Fish Feeders Can Feed Your Fish When You Are Away
When my husband struck a deal with our daughter about getting
some goldfish, I was a little hesitant about the entire situation.
She was to keep her room clean for a period of time, and when
she did that, she could then go with us to the pet store to pick
out two fishy friends to keep in her room.
My concern was not about having them in general, but what we
would do when we went away for the weekend, which we do quite
often. Who was going to feed them? Luckily, we found that there
is a such a thing as fish feeders.
Different Types Of Fish Feeders
What I didn’t know before we went to the pet store was that there
are actually a few different types of fish feeders. There are
ones that work much like you would think, but you can get them
in many different forms.
They have a supply of food, and you can set the feeder to tell
it how much and how many times a day. These can work for days
as reliable fish feeders, and at times, they can even allow you
to be away from home for a week or more. It depends on your fish
and your tank in many cases.
Fish Feeders For Fish Ponds
There are larger types of fish feeders that you can get if you
have a stock pond, or just a pond on your property that you wish
to have your own fish in. These work like their smaller counterparts,
but they can feed large amounts of food for a longer period of
time. They can be programmed as you wish, and then you just have
to refill the feeder as needed.
Most who have these fish feeders never want to manually feed
their fish, so if that is your case, invest in one that you know
you can rely on for extended periods of time. You have to maintain
them, of course, but the better models will serve you much better.
Smaller Feeders For Your Home Aquarium
If you don’t want to spend big bucks on fish feeders for your
home aquarium, you don’t have to. You can find smaller feeders
that look more like plaster than anything else. These are meant
to sit in the tank and slowly dissolve, releasing food slowly
into the water.
There are different sizes for different numbers of fish, and
also different types of foods. You can find some that will be
gone in a few days, which are perfect for weekend trips, and some
that last a whole week. These are the best when you only go away
occasionally.
Using The Fish Feeder Before You Go On Your Trip
A fish feeder can feed your fish while you are away, giving you
that peace of mind, knowing that your fish will not go hungry
while you are away. One good idea is to start using the fish feeder
and programming it to feed at a specific time before you go on
your trip, so you can see how it feeds your fish, giving you the
assurance that the feeder works.
The feeder can feed your fish while you are at work, at a social
event or a family gathering. You can let it feed your fish even
when you are home, so that you do not blame yourself for forgetting
to feed your pet fish.
You can purchase fish feeders from your local pet shop or search
for fish feeders online, to make a purchase online.
