Havahart 5265 Spray Away Motion Activated Water Repellent Is
A Humane Deterrent To Keep Intruders Out Of Your Yard And Garden
By Jon Kryer
Animals are an undeniably beautiful part of nature. It can be
a magical moment to be canoeing down the river and see a snow-white
egret lift its elegant neck out of the water or a mother and baby
deer drinking from the water’s edge.
In the morning, birds are chirping, bunnies are feasting on dewy
grass and cats are walking on fence tops. While homeowners never
want harm to befall these gentle creatures, they also hope that
their furry friends will respect their personal space, leaving
gardens, porches and personal property alone.
Keeping Out Animals Humanely
If these animals are wreaking havoc, then one must review their
options and they must be repelled in a humane and effective way.
One of the latest products aimed at keeping animals out is the
Havahart 5265 Spray Away Motion Activated Water Repellent.
Havahart 5265 Spray Away Motion Activated Water Repellent is a
humane way to repel deer, dogs, raccoons, groundhogs, opossums,
skunks, rabbits, cats, squirrels, birds and geese from your lawn
and garden.
A Three Second Blast Of Water
When its infra-red sensors detects an animal, the electronic
valve releases a three-second blast of water from the attached
garden hose, which can project up to 35-feet away and sweep across
180-feet. Each time it goes off, this device uses just two to
three cups of water per activation.
There are sensitivity detectors and random spray patterns, which
prevent animals from becoming too accustomed to the device. Over
time, the sudden noise and water spray will condition the animals
to avoid the area all together.
Ideal Conditions To Repel Unwanted Animals From Your Yard
There are many scenarios where the Havahart 5265 Spray Away Motion
Activated Water Repellent is ideal. Situation #1: You step outside
into your yard every day to find mysterious piles of feces littering
your land.
Having no animals yourself, you wonder whose dog or cat is running
through the neighborhood, abusing your property in such a way.
Situation #2: Your cat thinks he owns the lot. He uses your garden
as a litter-box, chews on your chives and battles other felines
all night long.
Your Koi Pond Is Attacked By Raccoons
Situation #3: You enjoy sitting by your beautiful koi pond, but
more often than not, you find they are missing; undoubtedly feasted
upon by nasty raccoons in the night! Situation #4: Nothing seems
to work at keeping the deer from wandering into your yard and
eating up your trees, shrubs and gardens like there is no tomorrow.
For all of these unfortunate events, a safe, humane water deterrent
is the way to go!
Out of 57 Havahart 5265 Spray Away Motion Activated Water Repellent
reviews at Amazon, there were 10 disgruntled buyers in the 1 or
2-star categories. "I purchased this to deter cats, so far
I have gotten the mailman and UPS driver," writes one consumer.
"It will not sense a small animal [because] you cannot lower
it."
Another consumer complained that he needed to use tape to prevent
the connector from leaking. One consumer says that this product
seemed to invite raccoons, rather than deter them. "Apparently,
they like a nice cold shower as the digging in my lawn was deepest
near the Spray Away," he writes.
Geese Outsmarting The 8 Second Delay
One buyer says that the geese have learned to outsmart the Havahart:
they drink from it, they walk too slowly for the motion sensor
to detect them and they wait out the 8-second delay.
A buyer from Virginia says the product works great to keep deer
away but he finds the Contech Scarecrow Sprinkler to be "more
dependable" and it has a better guarantee (a 2-year return
policy versus a 30-day return policy).

Little Known Garden Products Facts....
Some people have natural "green thumbs." No, their
thumbs are not green. It’s just a phrase attributed to those that
can grow anything. Gardening can be intimidating to some people
because they feel that they are not gifted with that particular
attribute. But nothing is farther from the truth.
The real truth is that anyone can garden if they have the right
gardening products. It may be a small herb garden or a flower
garden but it can be something you have created through your own
sweat and hard work.
