Intex Airbed For Overnight Visitors
By Leaf Treehorn
Lots of people enjoy the opportunity to play host to friends
or family who are visiting from out of town. When they stay over,
it gives everyone more time to enjoy a relaxed visit. When visitors
are coming for an overnight stay, it can be helpful to have a
spare bed in the form of something like the Intex Airbed.
There are a number of different Intex models on the market and
the newest ones have some advanced features that the earlier models
did not have. As with many other inflatable air mattress styles
that are available, Intex has also recently introduced a model
that has a built in air pump.
Very Stable And Comfortable
According to some owners of the Intex Airbed, the inclusion of
an air pump as part of the inflatable air bed is a much needed
improvement. One reviewer who owned an Intex inflatable air mattress
wrote that she found the air mattress very stable and comfortable
and she gave it high marks for not losing air as so many other
similar products are known to do.
Her biggest complaint in the review that she posted, was that
the inflatable air mattress was extremely difficult to inflate.
Difficulties Pumping Air Into The Mattress
The reviewer goes on to explain that the "Intex Double Quick
Air Pump" which came with the queen size air bed was anything
but quick. The manual pump failed to inflate the air mattress
to any significant degree after fifteen minutes of pumping.
She followed the instructions as provided, which stated the manual
pump was designed to pump air into the mattress during both the
up and down stokes. After more than an hour of experimenting they
discovered the only way to get the pump working was to do half
strokes which succeeded in getting the air into the mattress,
but was a very tiring ordeal.
She concluded that the only way she would make a purchase of
another Intex Airbed would be if she could get one of the newer
self-inflating models. It should be noted that this particular
reviewer was describing her experience with the Intex Queen Downy
Airbed model.
Dual Wave Beam For A Couple
Other reviewers have posted similar complaints about the Intex
Airbed, but at the same time there are many positive comments
about the quality of the inflatable air mattress material that
was used. It also seems that the dual wave beam construction of
the air bed made it more stable and comfortable, especially when
used by two people.
This particular product also has a flocked air bed top, comfort
feature. The material has a similar feel to velour and it covers
the top side of the air mattress bed. This layer helps to reduce
sweating which is a common problem with many plastic and vinyl
air mattress beds. Another benefit of this flocked top is that
the rayon becomes a non-slip surface which helps to keep the sheets
in place.
Support Diminished Overnight
A different reviewer bought the Intex Recreation Double Airbed
and did not encounter the inflating problems that the other reviewer
focused on with her Intex Airbed.
The trouble that he experienced was with the ability of the inflatable
air mattress to retain air for more than a few hours. This meant
that support diminished throughout the night and left him with
back aches by morning.
He mentioned that his future use of this particular model of
inflatable air bed would be reserved for overnight guests that
he didn't want overstaying their welcome.

Little Known Facts About Air Beds....
Sleeping on a hard floor is never a great way to spend the night
but most people do not have extra beds to spare when company visits.
Whether you are the visitor or the host, having a few air beds
around is always a great idea.
These portable beds are very comfortable and can be taken anywhere.
New models even feature built in air pumps which means not having
to blow the mattress up yourself.
