Modern Bathrooms Helping You Relax And Recover
By James R Blunt
If it’s been a while since your bathroom was redecorated,
then it may be time to look into styles that are popular in modern
bathrooms. Many of today’s designs are geared toward creating
a soothing, stress free environment in which you can rest and
rejuvenate. If it’s time to review your options and remodel
a bathroom in your house, then we’ve got tips that will
save you, both time and money.
Many modern, designer bathrooms are modeled after some of the
world’s most luxurious spas. The goal is to create a place where
you can relax and recharge your batteries. The room should have
a color theme that you find soothing. Among the most popular colors
are cool blues, purples, greens and pinks.
Absolute Comfort In Your Bathroom
Add soft, frosted lighting, some elegant bathroom wall mirrors
and beautiful greenery for a very calming effect. If you have
a spacious master suite, consider a day bed for lounging on after
a bath as part of your design. This will allow you to be alone
in absolute comfort.
If you don’t have the space for a day bed, check out bed and
bath shops for bath pillows. These pillows have suction cups that
attach to the tub to comfortably support your neck and head as
you soak.
The Avant Guard Feel
Beautiful bathrooms can also be created using edgier, darker
colors accented with white and highly polished marble and steel,
for an avant guard feel. These ultra modern designs can feature
striking pedestal sinks with graceful lines and classic claw-foot
tubs that almost seem like sculptures.
For elegant touches, add accessories such as soap dishes, cups
and toothbrush decanters made of pewter or black porcelain vases
in egg shapes filled with pussy willows. If you really want to
spoil yourself, install an electric floor warmer to heat the tiles
and a chrome towel warmer so that you can wrap yourself in luxurious
comfort on cold days.
A Freestanding Tub As A Centerpiece
Modern bathrooms no longer are limited to cold, white fixtures.
Tubs, sinks and toilets are now made in a wide variety of colors
and materials to suit every taste. If you’re into a neoclassic
look, a claw footed, freestanding tub made of wrought iron can
make an incredible centerpiece.
For something more luxurious, consider a deep soaking tub with
soothing jets that massage away tension. An added benefit to this
tub design is that they are small and deep, which frees up more
floor space. Floating sinks are another fixture that can maximize
your space.
Glass sinks with clear countertops will also make your room seem
much bigger. For modern bathrooms toilets have even undergone
a transformation and are now designed with elongated bowls and
seats for maximum comfort.
Pleasing Yourself With Luxury
New bathrooms don’t have to cost big bucks if you choose your
pieces wisely. If your fixtures are in good shape, creating a
modern bathroom may be as simple as changing the color of your
paint or updating the pattern of a tile backsplash. To create
a room that is up to date and polished, aim for a look that is
pulled together.
Many department stores sell pre-coordinated towel, mat and accessory
sets that are great for one stop bathroom shopping. No matter
which color or design you select, if you’re comfortable when soaking
in your tub, you know that you’ve made the right choice.

Little Known Bathroom Remodeling Facts....
Should I leave the hardwood floors in my bathroom or should I replace them with something else?
This is purely up to your aesthetic preferences.
Water is definitely harder on hardwood floors but with proper care and
sealant the floors can stay looking beautiful. Tile is more commonly found
in newer homes. Home owners love the look and colors not to mention the durability.
But there is something about a properly cared for hardwood floor that adds a bit of
quaintness to a bathroom.
