Outdoor Fire Pit In Your Backyard
By Rodger G Allenby
Outdoor fire pit is quite common in urban and country areas of
the world. An outdoor fire pit can provide heat and light to the
surrounding area.
An outdoor fire pit can bring fun and enjoyment on cold winter
and summer nights. You can have a little party in your backyard,
and everyone can sit around the outdoor fire pit and enjoy toasting
a marshmellow or two on the fire.
Your guests can always try and walk on hot coals from one end
to the other end of the outdoor fire pit. This is always a fun
party trick. Just make sure your guests do not get burned and
you have some first aid medications nearby to give a quick treatment
for burns.
I always tell my guests of the risks of getting burns on your
feet. I show them how I walk across and I do not get burned. I
always show them my feet. Some guests take this as a challenge
and try and get across without getting burned. Some succeed, others
fail. Some put one foot in the outdoor fire pit and jump back
out.
An Outdoor Fire Pit Was Standard In Our Yard
Ah, I can still recall those days of kicking-it by the outdoor
fire pit with just my family and friends. Since I grew up in the
country, an outdoor fire pit was standard in our yard. Believe
it or not, but we had one right next to the Turkey River.
How awesome is that! You chill out by the crackling fire and
roast up a few marshmallows to make chocolaty smores. Yep, life
doesn’t get any better than that. And when you’re finished gorging
on the sticky treats, you can easily plummet into the river to
clean of.
Outdoor Fire Pit In Your Backyard
Those were the good old days. It was all about the simple things
in life. They made us so happy. So, have you got that outdoor
fire pit set up in your yard or deck yet? It’s enjoyable year–round.
I am probably one of the few individuals who grew up lighting
fires on a daily basis. If it wasn’t the grill, it was the woodstove,
and if it wasn’t the outdoor fire pit, it was the corn field.
Oops, the corn field thing was actually more of an accident.

Easy To Maintain
Anyway, aside from my little mishap with the corn field, starting
a nice warm fire can be a wonderful thing. Especially if it is
an outdoor fire pit.
Now, we always had one of these on our lawn. It was a very simple
amenity to construct and also easy to maintain. We basically dug
a decent sized hole in the dirt, and made a circle of stones around
it.
Then we killed the grass a few feet out, surrounding the outdoor
fire pit. This is to ensure that you don’t end up with a fire
when red-hot coals come bouncing out of the fire pit.
A Roaring Flame All Night Long
Finally it’s all about the wood. You stack it nicely inside your
dirt fire pit and keep a roaring flame dancing all night long
if you please. It’s a wonderful, yet inexpensive luxury if you
ask me.
When it comes to the outdoor fire pit, I would now prefer to
have one on my deck. Wouldn’t that be outstanding to have a nice
big deck with a decent fire pit in the center? It would truly
be an asset on cold fall and winter nights.
Imagine you and your family lounging outside around the outdoor
fire pit. Ah, it’s practically incomparable.
Outdoor Fire Pit In The Backyard
I currently have an outdoor fire pit in my backyard. I want to
make sure there are no accidental fires or any accidents to people
or animals getting burnt and I am always thinking of safety first.
I have put a sign close to the fire pit, informing the visitor
to my backyard that there is a fire pit in the yard, and to stay
at a safe distance.
My children have known about the outdoor fire pit since they
were toddlers and have grown to understand how to be safe around
fires.
After all, the aim is to provide light and warmth to the surrounding
area using an outdoor fire pit.
