Park Campground For The Great Outdoors
By Leaf Treehorn
Are you young at heart or even young in body? Actually, all you
have to be is adventurous, but only to a small degree, nothing
major. If any of these produced a yes response, then pack up your
camping gear and head off to explore a park campground near you.
Of course, if you do happen to be quite adventuresome, then you
can always venture outside your comfort zone and really go exploring.
Some may call it getting back to nature, some may call it wanderlust
and yes, some may call it crazy.
Enjoy The Great Outdoors
There are so many interesting places to go to enjoy the great
outdoors, more than we may ever get the chance to see. You don’t
necessarily have to have a set list of places, perhaps just an
idea of what you really enjoy.
You may want to get a camper and drive to specific locations
or you may prefer the whole backpacking, camping hiking type of
trip. Get your tent, take your time and when you decide to stop,
just camp in whatever place you have found yourself.
Consider starting your trip by packing your tent, along with
a few other essential items and setting off in search of a place
to camp. Many times you will run across a state or national park
campground and they usually make an excellent choice.
Find Your Next Destination With A Campground Directory
Most of these parks will have a campground directory that may
help you decide which way to head on the next leg of your journey.
Or you could always speak with other people who are camping and
get some suggestions. Perhaps they just left a great place and
are willing to tell you where it is located.
If you are going to be strictly camping, hiking or backpacking,
then be sure to have enough outdoor gear to last through whatever
temperature or terrain changes you may encounter.
Before Leaving For Your Trip Check Your Camping Equipment
Check out your camping equipment to ensure it is in good condition
so that there will be no surprises, or at least no bad surprises,
along the way. However, there are times when even the best laid
plans go awry, so it is a good idea to let someone know where
you are on a daily basis.
It makes no difference whether you are traveling by camper, rv
or on foot by hiking; camping is a great opportunity to explore
new places and to see things that you had no idea even existed.
Perhaps subconsciously, this type of adventure has been a little
thought in the back of your mind for some time.
It makes no difference how you travel, and where you stay can
be anywhere from a tent pitched in a state park campground to
a fully loaded, luxurious rv. What is important is that you enjoyed
yourself, lived life on your own terms, and returned home safe
and sound.

Little Known Camping Facts....
Do I have to hike out into the woods in order to camp?
This is a topic of controversy among camping
enthusiasts. You do not have to traipse out into the woods for
miles while carrying everything you need. Some people enjoy going
to a camping area and still having necessities.
The one thing that all camping enthusiasts
agree on is that a three star hotel is not the idea of camping.
It is perfectly okay to pitch a tent at a camping ground that
provides showers. Sometimes those small comforts of home can make
for an enjoyable outing with the family. But that is entirely
up to you on how much you want to "rough" it.
