Pet Parrots Garden Nursery Landscaping Guide
Pet Parrots Are Intelligent Birds
By Rodger G Allenby
Sometimes people just want pet birds to be decorative and to
add the occasional sweet song to the sounds of the household.
But others want birds that they can interact with in a major way,
and perhaps even teach them to talk and learn other tricks.
If that’s what you’re looking for, then you want
a more exotic type of bird. You would probably be most interested
in investigating pet parrots or cockatiels. These will give you
all the daily interaction and fun you could ever dream of.
Large Brightly Colored Parrots
With some pet parrots, you need to decide whether you’re more
interested in the bird’s cleverness or in its ability to speak.
The birds most people picture when they think of the large, brightly
colored parrots are actually macaws, and they "speak"
less clearly than other smaller types.
Yet they are very smart birds and you can do some bird training
to teach them tricks. The African Grey parrots, on the other hand,
are the real talkers. But they need even more attention and stimulation
to keep them happy, because of their high intelligence.
Social And Affectionate Birds
As an alternative to parrots, some people become interested in
cockatiels instead. Although they are quite large, they are also
very social, affectionate birds, meaning they’d probably fit more
easily into a family than some of the larger parrots.
They are able to learn a lot of words, and really enjoy talking
back to their humans. They also have beautiful plumage and a large
head crest. So if you’re uncertain how well you’d deal with parrots,
a pet cockatiel might be another possibility for you.
The thing to remember, whether you’re considering pet parrots
or cockatiels, is that this has to be a commitment. Many of these
birds live for quite a long time; even the relatively short-lived
budgies can live for a decade.
Your Bird Needs Care And Attention
Choosing a pet bird from one of these species is not something
you do lightly. If you buy this type of intelligent, active bird,
then you are committing yourself to give it the care, stimulation
and attention it needs to be happy, for as long as it lives.
If you aren’t sure you can do that, then attractive as these
birds are to you, you should probably choose some other kind of
bird for a pet.

Little Known Birds Facts....
If you live in an apartment then you know that having a dog is
sometimes impossible. Cats are a good option to apartment life
but they really do shed a lot and if you have allergies then you
definitely do not want to deal with all that hair.
Fish are good pets but they really just swim around and do not
interact much. Pet birds, on the other hand, do make great additions
to the family if you happen to have a small living space.
