Realtors Experience Tips

By James R Blunt

Most people depend on the services of real estate agents to buy and sell property, but you have to choose a realtor carefully. You must have a good relationship with your listing agent in order to get a great deal on your property.

Forming a trusting relationship with your real estate agent is very important. Ask your friends and family to refer you to realtors that they’ve worked with in the past. When you meet the agent, review your options and evaluate their selling style, their sales plan and ask questions to see how well they know the local market.

Interview At Least Three Agents And Get It All In Writing

Some realtors specialize in some geographical areas or types of housing, so make sure the realtor has the specialty you expect. Be very clear about the agent’s commission and what services you expect to be performed and get it in writing. You should interview at least three agents before hiring someone. If the agent does not perform to your expectations, then find another who will.

When choosing an agent, be sure that they have experience in neighborhoods that interest you. That way, they’ll know what’s available and in what price range. If you’re listing your property, then a good agent will know the market well enough to set an optimum asking price attractive to both seller and buyer.

Developing A Trusting Relationship With Your Agent

Be sure that communication stays open and phone calls are returned. Some agents employ assistants to handle much of their legwork. If this is the case, then be certain your agent is the one present when it comes time to check the contracts and close the transaction.

As in any other business, there are good and bad realtors. A buyer’s agent works only for the buyer and is bound to represent you above all other interests. A seller’s agent works only for the seller of the home. This means that they only look out for the seller’s interest.

If you are using a disclosed dual agent, then the agent works for both the buyer AND the seller. This often happens when an agent sells a property that they have also listed for sale. Obviously, this is a conflict of interest. As a home buyer, you’re better off working with an agent who works only for you.

A Good Agent Can You Save You Time Finding A Quality Property

Some people grumble about the costs of realtors and choose to sell their home or look for property themselves. However, this can be a time consuming process. Real estate agents often work around the clock and that’s how they earn their commissions.

A good real estate agent will be diligent about representing your best interests if you choose carefully. Build a good relationship with your agent by being upfront about your needs and then trust them to carry through on their promises. If you choose well, you’ll get a deal that everyone will be happy with.

The key is by buying homes from owners being forced by economic circumstances to sell, fixing the house up a bit, and then selling for a profit. Is it risky? Yes, but nothing ventured is nothing gained. House flipping has become a great way to make money in the real estate game.
