RV Park Garden Nursery Guide
RV Park With An Indoor Kitchen
By Leaf Treehorn
What happened the last time you looked at your wife and told
her that you wanted to go camping. You know, real camping with
sleeping bags, a tent and a campfire to cook the meals?
It probably was a look that clearly meant she thought you were
an idiot, but don’t give up yet. Consider a compromise, such as
staying in an RV park, with an RV, instead of the ground level
accommodations you normally provide. You may be surprised at the
reaction you get.
Camping Equipment With A New Meaning
How long has it been since you went camping? For many, it has
not been since they were a child and most likely it was done with
a scouting troop. They were into all of that survival and hiking
stuff, which was probably a good thing since most of us would
never have "exercised" on our own. It was also when
the term camping equipment referred to sleeping bags and a tent.
Now, however, it takes on a whole new meaning.
When someone mentions camping now, it may not even be close to
what you remember. Perhaps you remember singing around a campfire,
telling ghost stories, early morning swims in a freezing lake,
cooking over the camp fire.
RV Park With An Indoor Kitchen And Other Amenities
You may have been one to go on those older scout camp outs, where
they set up camp and you had to review your options and use whatever
survival skills you had to get food, or find your way back to
the camp. Now, it’s a trip to an RV park, complete with
an RV equipped with everything, including an indoor kitchen and
other amenities.
The word camper used to refer to a person who went camping, whereas
now, it usually means something that you sleep in while at a campground.
Even camping equipment has evolved into some pretty hi-tech stuff.
However, with the RVs, you can’t just go wherever you want to
either. Normally, you even need reservations, instead of the first
come first served rule.
Making Campground Reservations
Campsites no longer honor the first come, first serve rule. These
days, if you want to stay at an RV park, then you must make campground
reservations. For the modern camper, no longer do you have to
try to locate a campsite on your own, then pitch the tent, find
the kerosene lamp, and get a fire going so you could boil water
and cook dinner.
All of the modern conveniences are incorporated into the RVs.
Some may say that camping just isn’t camping anymore; many say
it’s better.

Little Known Camping Facts....
What type of things should I take with me camping?
Let’s see…you will definitely need to take
some extra clothing and depending on the weather will depend greatly
on the type of clothing you will need. You will need to bring
along the following items no matter where you go camping: sleeping
bag, food, water, small hatchet for chopping firewood and matches.
Other items that some people pack are:
coolers for food, fishing poles, tents and a radio to listen to
at night. What you take depends largely on how you want to camp
and what you want to carry with you.
